Buy unlisted shares in India: 230 pre-IPO companies, priced daily
Unlisted shares are shares in companies that have not listed on a stock exchange: pre-IPO businesses, large subsidiaries and older private companies. They change hands off market, demat to demat, at a price agreed between buyer and seller. This desk quotes 230 of them and refreshes the list every working day, and every price on this page carries the date it was quoted. The minimum ticket is ₹25,000. Buying is remote from anywhere in India: send your client master list (CML) and PAN for KYC, the desk confirms an indicative price in writing, you pay the desk, and the shares settle into your own demat account.
BuyUnlistedShares is India's premium unlisted shares desk, run by Gayatri Financial Synergy LLP, in the market since 2002.

How buying works
- Pick a company. Use the table above, or filter it by sector, price band or registered-office city. Each name opens a page with the dated indicative price, lot size, ISIN, financials and registry details.
- Send an enquiry. Tell the desk the company and the quantity you have in mind. The desk comes back with a price for that day and the paperwork list.
- KYC and paperwork. Your client master list (CML) from your broker, your PAN and a cancelled cheque. That is the whole file for a purchase.
- Pay and receive. You pay the desk, and the shares are delivered demat to demat through NSDL or CDSL. They sit in your own demat account, not in a pooled one.
All of it is remote, from any city in India. Start at the enquiry desk, or open a demat account first if you do not hold one yet.
What it costs
The minimum ticket is ₹25,000, and it is the same on every company in the list. Your quote from the desk carries the amount for the quantity you ask for.
On the transfer itself, stamp duty is 0.015% of the consideration, the rate in force for transfers of securities since 1 July 2020. Your depository participant charges its own fee for an off-market debit, set by your broker rather than by the desk. Tax on a later sale is separate: the capital-gains calculator and the tax guide work through it.

Before you buy
An unlisted share is illiquid. There is no exchange order book behind it, so the figure on this page is an indicative dealer reference on the date shown, and the price for a real deal is the one the desk confirms on the day. A gap between what a buyer pays and what a seller receives is normal in an off-market trade.
Disclosure is thinner than for a listed company: annual accounts filed with the MCA, sometimes a DRHP, and little in between. A listing is not an instant exit either, because pre-IPO shares held by non-promoters are locked in for six months from the date of allotment under SEBI’s ICDR rules. Read the risks of unlisted and pre-IPO shares before you commit money, and the exit routes compared for how holders get out.

Frequently asked questions
How do I buy unlisted shares in India?
Pick a company from the list on this page and send the desk an enquiry with the quantity you want. The desk replies with an indicative price for that day and the paperwork list: your client master list, PAN and a cancelled cheque. You pay the desk and the shares are delivered demat to demat into your own account.
What is the minimum investment in unlisted shares?
The minimum ticket at this desk is 25,000 rupees, and it applies to every company in the list. Your quote from the desk carries the amount for the quantity you ask for.
Are unlisted shares safe?
They carry risks a listed share does not. There is no exchange order book, so they are illiquid and the price is an indicative dealer reference rather than a live quote. Disclosure is thinner, usually the annual accounts filed with the MCA. The transfer itself settles through NSDL or CDSL into your own demat account, so the holding is registered in your name.
How are unlisted shares taxed in India?
A holding of more than 24 months is long-term and taxed at 12.5% without indexation; a shorter holding is short-term and taxed at your income-tax slab. The clock starts on the day the shares are credited to your demat account, not on the day you enquired. The tax guide and the capital-gains calculator work through the figures.
How long does a transfer take?
The desk confirms the price in writing, you send the client master list and PAN, and once payment clears the shares are moved off market through NSDL or CDSL into your demat account. The depository credit itself follows your own broker timetable for an off-market delivery.
Can I sell unlisted shares before the IPO?
Yes. Off-market transfers run both ways and the desk quotes sellers as well as buyers: tell it the company and the quantity and it comes back with a price. After a company lists, pre-IPO shares held by non-promoters are locked in for six months from the date of allotment, so plan an exit around that date.
How often is this unlisted share price list updated?
Every working day. Each row carries the date its price was quoted, and the company pages carry the same date. They are indicative dealer references rather than exchange quotes, so the price for an actual deal is the one the desk confirms on the day you enquire.
Do I need a demat account to buy unlisted shares?
Yes. Unlisted shares of a public limited company are transferred in demat form, so you need an account with any NSDL or CDSL depository participant and the client master list it issues. If you do not hold one, the demat page lists brokers and what each of them charges.
How do I check the price of unlisted shares in India?
Use a source that dates every price. On this page each of the 230 companies carries an indicative price and the date it was quoted (last refresh 8 Oct 2026). There is no exchange quote for unlisted shares, so compare dated sources, check that the company has not already listed, and treat a published price as a reference: the price for a deal is confirmed in writing for your quantity.
How do I sell my unlisted shares in India?
Unlisted shares in demat form are sold off market: agree the buyer and the price in writing, then give your depository participant an off-market delivery instruction to the buyer's demat account once the payment terms are agreed. To sell to BuyUnlistedShares, send a sell enquiry with the company and the quantity you hold, and a person on the desk comes back to you.
Do I need a special demat account to hold unlisted shares?
No. Any demat account with NSDL or CDSL holds unlisted shares in demat form. The seller needs your client master list (CML) to transfer them to you.
How can I buy NSE unlisted shares in India?
NSE is no longer in the unlisted market: it listed on BSE on 24 Sep 2026, so its shares now trade on the exchange through a stock broker. The last indicative unlisted price is kept on its company page for reference.
