How to raise a complaint
If something on this website or in your dealings with the desk is wrong, tell us in writing. A complaint is registered only when it is received in writing with the following: your full name; the phone number or email you used with us; the last four characters of your PAN if the complaint concerns an enquiry, pre-application or deal; the page, enquiry, pre-application or deal confirmation reference; a clear statement of what went wrong, when, and what you want done; and copies of any relevant screenshots or messages. A call or WhatsApp voice note is not a registered complaint until it is confirmed in writing.

What happens next
- We aim to acknowledge a registered complaint within 2 working days with a reference number.
- We aim to resolve it, or tell you in writing why we cannot, within 30 days of registration. Complex matters, or matters that depend on a third party such as a depository participant, registrar, bank or exchange, may take longer, and we will say so.
- If you are not satisfied with the reply, you may ask in writing, within 15 days of it, for escalation to the grievance officer named below, who aims to reply within a further 15 working days. That reply is the desk’s final response.
- Where a complaint concerns content on the Community pages or another matter to which the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 apply, the timelines in those Rules apply to that complaint. Where a complaint is a request under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the time the DPDP Rules allow applies.
The timelines above are service targets, not contractual commitments, and missing one gives rise to no claim. A complaint is closed when the final response is sent, when you tell us it is resolved, or when we receive no reply from you for 30 days after asking for information.
Grievance officer
Escalations, DPDP Act grievances and complaints about Community content go to the grievance officer of Gayatri Financial Synergy at the address above, marked “Grievance Officer”.
What we can and cannot resolve
BuyUnlistedShares publishes information, takes non-binding enquiries and, when a deal is confirmed in writing, sells shares to or buys them from clients as principal (a dealer). Through this process we can correct information on this site, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw an enquiry or pre-application that has not yet been confirmed or submitted, remove Community content, look into how the desk dealt with you, and handle a complaint about a deal confirmed with the desk, including its confirmed price, payment, settlement, delivery of the shares or a refund under the Terms.
Some matters belong to others. A problem inside your own demat account or with your depository participant (for example a delivery instruction rejected or delayed on their side) goes to that depository participant and, if needed, to NSDL or CDSL; we will give you the details of our side of the transfer. A complaint about an IPO bid, mandate, allotment, unblocking, refund or listing goes to the SEBI-registered intermediary that placed the bid, the registrar to the issue, the sponsor bank or the exchange concerned. We will tell you which one and how to reach them, but we do not adjudicate it, are not responsible for their acts or omissions, and the regulatory remedies below run against them, not against the desk. We do not decide allotments. We do not entertain complaints about the level or movement of an indicative price, a GMP figure, a calculator output, a research view or a Community opinion, except to correct a factual error we have made.
SEBI SCORES and SMART ODR
SEBI SCORES (scores.sebi.gov.in) and the SMART ODR portal (smartodr.in) are the regulator’s complaint and dispute-resolution mechanisms for SEBI-registered intermediaries, listed companies and market infrastructure institutions. Gayatri Financial Synergy and BuyUnlistedShares are not SEBI-registered intermediaries, and the desk is not one, so SCORES and SMART ODR do not adjudicate complaints against the desk; those are handled under this page and under the Terms & Conditions. Where your complaint concerns a SEBI-registered intermediary (for example the broker that placed an IPO bid, or your depository participant), a listed company, a registrar or an IPO, you may file it with that entity and then with SCORES and, if needed, SMART ODR, under SEBI’s procedures. The depositories run their own investor-grievance desks: NSDL nsdl.co.in and CDSL cdslindia.com.
Data and privacy requests
Requests to access, correct, update or erase your personal data, to withdraw consent, to nominate a person, or to raise a DPDP Act grievance follow the same written route, with reasonable identity verification, and are answered within the time the DPDP Rules allow; see the Privacy Policy. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Frivolous or abusive complaints
We may decline to register, or may close without further reply, a complaint that is anonymous, incomplete, unverifiable, repetitive of one already answered, frivolous, vexatious, made in bad faith, or abusive, threatening or defamatory towards our staff, or that seeks compensation for market movements, illiquidity, non-allotment or a decision you made. Abuse of staff may also result in suspension from the website and the desk under the Terms.
No admission, no waiver
This process is voluntary and is offered without prejudice. Registering, acknowledging, investigating or responding to a complaint, or offering any correction, goodwill gesture or resolution, is not an admission of any liability, error or breach, and does not waive any right, defence, limitation, cap or indemnity available to Gayatri Financial Synergy or BuyUnlistedShares under the Terms & Conditions or in law. Completing this process is a condition precedent to arbitration or any other proceeding under the Terms, but nothing here extends any limitation period or creates any right that the Terms or the law do not give.
Complaint log
We keep an internal log of complaints received, resolved and pending, which we use to improve the desk and to answer any lawful request from an authority. We are not obliged to publish it.
